The Wilderness First Responder program is the ideal medical training for leaders in remote areas including outdoor educators, guides, military, professional search and rescue teams, researchers, and those involved in disaster relief. The curriculum is comprehensive and practical. It includes the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments for days and weeks if necessary.
See travel directions at www.campmenogyn.com. From twin cities: Take I-35 N to Duluth, MN. Continue north onto Highway 61 until Grand Marais, MN. Take left (head northwest) on the Gunflint Trail. Take the trail for 269 miles until you reach Hungry Jack Rd, County Rd 21. Take a left. Follow the road for about three miles until it ends at a parking lot. User the intercom in the cabin by the lake to call for a boat to pick you up.
Room and Board:
All room & board course participants will stay in rustic, bunk house cabins. Outdoor toilets and cabins are heated by wood stoves. Menogyn is a rustic camp on the edge of Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
All meals provided for room & board package, including night prior to course and final night post-course. Please let us know about special dietary needs.
