Garibaldi Highlands, BC
Through a series of serendipitous events. Jim ended up becoming a Paramedic almost 30 years ago rather than stuck in a cubicle. Good thing! Since then Jim has worked in various locations with the BC Ambulance Service, mostly in rural/backcountry locales with a 10-year stint assigned to the downtown eastside of Vancouver. At the same time he became a river guide. Hooked up with WMA’s Canadian Sponsor, Raven Rescue teaching Swiftwater & Ice Rescue with a specialty in Vehicles in Water & motorized/non-motorized Rescue Watercraft. And is a volunteer with the Squamish SAR group as a Training Coordinator & Team Leader in water, rope and avalanche response.
When he’s not on the water, he enjoys the success of raising 2 great kids and either back-country skiing touring or sledding.
