Edward “Eddie” Goett has been teaching for Wilderness Medical Associates since 2010. He grew up climbing and hiking in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico, graduating with a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma. In 2008 he left the states to work as an Outdoor Educator, Climbing Guide, and Safety manager in China and SE Asia. While working for companies like Outward Bound HK and Insight Adventures, Eddie helped create and lead adventure based outdoor trips in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Oman, Thailand, Malaysia, and Mongolia. In 2014 he returned to the USA to pursue a career in medicine. Since then Eddie has worked for several years as an EMT on an ambulance in Oakland, California. He currently works as a Perfusion Technician in the Operating Rooms at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) where he is an integral part of the liver transplant and vascular surgical teams. He spends his free time in Yosemite Valley climbing and enjoying the High Sierras.
